What few people know is that George Michael secretly helped many people in need throughout his life.

Only after the singer's death did it become known that he had spent millions to help orphans, the homeless, the sick and needy foreigners.

His donations have helped create a world where people with HIV can live healthy lives without prejudice and discrimination.

He gave £25,000 to an unknown woman in a bar because she was crying over a debt. He wrote out a check and asked the waitress to give it to the woman after he left and donated another 5,000 to a medical student who was struggling to pay for her studies.

He donated all proceeds from the song 'Jesus' to charities for children in need.

Great man before being a great artist.
